Volunteers are needed to ensure the success of the event. We are looking for friendly, fun, hard working volunteers to assist with the event. Every role plays a particularly important role at this event.
Workshop Support
- Monitor area and answer general questions
- Work with presenters to set-up workshop area based on presentation style
- Direct guests to workshop area only
- Make sure no participants or loitering in the halls of the buildings
- Train incoming volunteer on assigned roles and responsibilities
What to wear: wear comfortable walking shoes, clothing of your choice that reflects Focus: HOPE’s mission of treating everyone with dignity and respect, and if sun is a concern, a hat and sunscreen!
- Please check in at the volunteer tent to receive your special Focus: On Detroit pin and volunteer ribbon, some bottled water, and to receive your assignment
- Connect with your Area Team Lead
- Go to your designated starting point (see attached matrix for starting points for teams).
Where to go when you arrive:
- Parking: Parking is available in fenced lots for Volunteers in the Focus: HOPE lots located 1200 Oakman Blvd. Volunteers can also park at their own risk on the unfenced grassy vacant lots on the south side of Kendall near Woodrow Wilson. Shuttles will be circulating for pick-up and drop off at the various parking lots and to the festival.

In addition to wound care equipment (there will be on-site first aid kits)
- Water Bottles
- Bug Spray/repellent
- Light snack(s)
