Each year prior to the holidays, volunteers donate food and other gift items for Focus: HOPE’s Senior Holiday Program. Volunteers will then deliver these packages to over 1,400 low-income senior citizens
Seniors will receive TWO food boxes and a frozen turkey per delivery.
- Please be patient, there will be over 300 vehicles to load and deliver holiday meals. Your patience will help to maintain positive energy and more efficient processing.
- Park in one of the designated parking lots until it is time for you to load your vehicle.
- Come inside and check-in, enjoy refreshments. The Focus: HOPE gift shop will also be open if you’d like to purchase merchandise.
- Once in the loading zone, please follow directions to the next available loading station, and use the delivery sign to indicate how many deliveries you will be receiving.
- A small handcart may be helpful, some home, apartments, and front door entrances are a distance away and the carts may be helpful.
- What to do if a senior does not answer their door? We are not supposed to leave the food outside their door. Some apartments may have a manager or representative present that can store the food until the senior returns. Please ask them. All undelivered food boxes should be returned to Focus: HOPE with the information of the senior that did not receive their delivery. We understand this may not be practical for some of the groups delivering far away. If it is only a couple of boxes / turkeys and doesn’t warrant the long return drive, please use your best judgement and give it to someone you may know that is in need. Please call to inform us at 313-494-4980.
